Art Exhibition at Guan ShanYue Art Museum in Shenzhen, 94 works shortlisted to celebrate and to showcase the rapid development of Shenzhen during the past three decades since the city became a Special Economic Zone. Welcome to China for Canton trade fair. HRC is pleasure to provide Guangzhou hotels booking, China tour guide and Indochina tour packages for you.
THE Guan Shanyue Art Museum reopened Tuesday after one year’s renovation, with two exhibitions specially arranged for the National Day holidays: the 11th China National Fine Arts Exhibition, and Guan Shanyue’s Overseas Sketches.
The spacious first floor has a thematic exhibition with various ancient artifacts, and other halls are devoted to natural history. Children will be sure to enjoy the stuffed elephant and giraffe at the entrance. Other animals are classified by their regions — desert, forest, arctic, and prairie.
Upstairs is more focused on the city itself. The ancient exhibit goes back 7,000 years, to prehistoric times and also dwells on the different dynasties, while the modern Shenzhen exhibit begins with the opium wars of 1840 until 1949. The displays teach about the many uprisings, wars, acts of colonial aggression, and revolutions of the past two centuries. There is also a folk culture exhibit concerning local Cantonese and Hakka culture, inside a replica of an old village.
